Digital edition
As part of a long-term research project, the Alfred Escher Foundation is providing online access to an archive of around 7,500 letters written by and to Alfred Escher. Part of the collection is available on www.briefedition.alfred-escher.ch. As well as transcriptions and facsimiles, the platform used for the digital edition of the letters offers a variety of search and filter options, extensive commentaries on the relevant people and events, as well as a comprehensive chronology of Alfred Escher’s life and work.
