New members were appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Alfred Escher Foundation on October 25, 2016. This change is happening in the context of the successful release of thousands of Escher's letters in print and digital format (www.briefedition.alfred-escher.ch). With these publications, the Alfred Escher Foundation has set editorial standards for academia and has achieved the ambitious targets it set when it was founded in 2006. The next major target is the 200th anniversary of Alfred Escher's birth in 2019. This event will be marked by a number of diverse activities and be handled by a new organizational structure.
